Bright & Black

Bright & Black is a groundbreaking project, granting respected figures from the metal scene, such as Fredrik Åkesson (Opeth), Erik Danielsson (Watain), Nico Elgstrand (Entombed AD), Tomas Haake/Dick Lövgren (Meshuggah), and Jacob Hellner, a new canvas—an entire symphony orchestra—to craft something entirely novel.

The Baltic Sea region, encompassing Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, has been a trailblazer in both the metal and orchestra realms for decades. Artists, musicians, composers, and conductors from these countries have consistently demonstrated their prowess on the global stage. It was within this community that the concept of Bright & Black emerged—a synthesis of talents bound not only by geography but also by a shared passion for art and music.

Music possesses a magical quality, and its magic is never more potent than when experienced live.
